"A collar-free gym means you have no external collars, clips, or clamps lying around in your gym. Instead, all the collars are built into the bars, creating a safer, tidier, and more user-friendly gym environment. Not to mention it’s more fun to use!" - Vin Rein, CSO, Gungnir of Norway

]]>Feel 24 is a fast-growing gym chain in northern Norway, with about 50 gyms and counting. As one of the 5 biggest chains in Norway, Feel 24 has become a popular choice for fitness enthusiasts who want an affordable and easily accessible gym to work out in. One of their goals is lowering the threshold for physical activity which we at Gungnir of Norway can stand behind - and actively promote through our collar-free gym concept.
The Curler - EZ curl bar
They have been equipped with Gungnir bars for about 2 years and every new gym opening is made collar-free. One of their newer gyms is located in Vadsø, in the far north of Norway, also happens to be collar-free.
The facility is all on one floor with an open and tidy space, and a variety of different equipment in clear sections throughout the area. The people of Vadsø are excited to finally have a professional gym like this in town, which will help them become more active and healthy.
The collar-free area and built-in collars on the bars allow members to easily and quickly change weights during their workout without having to stop and deal with collars. It makes the environment safer, tidier and offers a more user-friendly experience. Which makes a difference in a self-service gym like this one, where staff aren't always present. The Feel 24 gym in Vadsø is a great example of the their commitment to providing both esthetical but also functional spaces that meet the needs of its members.
Julie Blakstad , Personal trainer, Feel 24 Vadsø
"As a personal trainer, the built-in collars on the bars are very convenient. Many clients had difficulty putting on the old locks themselves, but now anyone can easily secure the weights and stay safe." - Julie Blakstad, Personal trainer, Feel 24 Vadsø.
If you live in the north of Norway and are looking for a gym that's open 24/7 and has everything you need for a great workout, look no further than Feel 24.

Over 1000 gym members were observed in the study earlier this year, which was led by Gungnir of Norway with help from Fresh Fitness St. Hanshaugen and Jørn Stian Dahl, PT Manager at Fresh Fitness. The study found that switching to collar-free bars increased safety by 78% and boosted member satisfaction.
"We've always been committed to providing our members with the best possible workout experience. We were excited to be a part of this study. and it showed us that collar-free bars are a game-changer." - Jørn Stian Dahl, PT Manager, Fresh Fitness.
So, how does a collar-free gym work? Instead of using traditional collars to secure weights on the bar, collar-free bars have built-in collars that lock the weights in place. This eliminates the need for external collars, which can be time-consuming to adjust and can also create safety hazards if not properly secured or not used at all.
The club manager, Kasper Shibani, adds that Fresh fitness and the fitness industry constantly strive to have functional and smart solutions, and that they are impressed with the overall experience;
"Not having to look for and deal with regular spring collars leads to a better user experience for our members, and also a cleaner gym" - Kasper Shibani, Club Manager, Fresh Fitness St.hanshaugen.
So, if you're looking for a way to make your gym safer, tidier, and more user-friendly, consider switching to a collar-free gym. And if you're interested in learning more about the study, be sure to check out the full case study here, or if you are in Oslo, visit Fresh Fitness St. hanshaugen for an in real life experience.
