Gungnir of Norway product care guideline

Gungnir products are designed for sustainability and durability. Our highest priority is to ensure that the components and materials chosen to make our bars are of the highest quality, so that they may stand the test of time. Just like any other product, there are do’s and don’ts when it comes to how it is used, treated, cared for and maintained. Here is a proper use and warranty guide to ensure product longevity.

Any weightlifting bar can be damaged or bent by improper use or abuse. Improper use includes, but is not limited to: bars being dropped on hard, non-absorbing surfaces or items such as benches, racks, or asphaltbars; dropped while unloaded; bars left loaded with weight plates or stored on a rack for extended periods of time; or moisture/ fluid entering the sleeve through harsh environments or improper cleaning. Carefully inspect your bar for signs of damage that could impact safe performance and ensure sleeves are rotating as designed.

Please inspect your bar for damages or performance issues such as sleeves not rotating correctly or Slidelocks malfunctioning or jamming. If any damages or malfunctions are detected, please contact a Gungnir representative.

CLEANING YOUR GUNGNIR PRODUCT:
• Place bars in a horizontal position when cleaning. With a lint free cloth, apply a mild soap detergent and wipe the bar while carefully avoiding the area where the sleeve and bar shaft meet. Moisture in this area can impact the bars performance and lifetime.
• Brush the shaft of the bar, including the knurl with a nylon brush to remove chalk or dirt.
• We recommend using bleach-free, alcohol-free, and o-phenylphenol (OPP) ammonia free wipes for disinfecting.

USE:
• Our bars shall only be dropped while loaded with weight plates, do not attempt to drop an unloaded bar.
• Bars loaded with weight plates should only be dropped on platforms and/or surfaces designed specifically for lifting.
• Always use the SlideLock collars on each end of the bar sleeves to prevent the weight plates from moving during lifts.
• Never use Gungnir equipment if it shows signs of damage, especially if the sleeves do not rotate properly, or if the SlideLock is malfunctioning or jamming as this may cause injury.

STORAGE:
• Place unloaded bars either horizontally or vertically .
• Do not store bars with weights loaded as this can cause unwanted bending.
• Store bars in a dry and clean indoor environment at temperatures between 18-27°C.
