Our friends at Fitness Brands Sweden recently posted about their first collar-free location, and we would be remiss if we didn't share the love. Friskis&Svettis Klockartorpet in Västerås is Sweden's first certified Collar-free gym, equipped exclusively with Gungnir of Norway barbells.
"It's such a relief not having to hunt for collars," says Peter Wallinder, gym manager at the facility, which operates around the clock. With no loose collars to go missing during unstaffed hours, the association saves both time and money. Members have responded enthusiastically, with many noting that no one has thought of this before.
The integrated locks also improve safety, as members are more likely to secure their weights when the lock is always right there on the bar. The gym itself, housed in a former padel hall, has an open and airy feel and offers a wide range of equipment from Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, and of course Gungnir of Norway.
