MOVATI Athletic is one of the most exciting premium gym chains in North America. With 19 locations across Canada and a reputation for full-service facilities that set the standard in every market they enter, they are not a chain that makes equipment decisions lightly. Albany was the first. And it started collar-free.

MOVATI Athletic Albany sits at 135 Albany Drive NW in Edmonton, Alberta. It is one of the most complete fitness facilities in the city: eight boutique fitness studios, a universal pool, hot tub, cold plunge, saunas, steam rooms, Pilates Reformer, a women's only area, and an M Lounge designed for recovery and refuelling. The club has since been recognised with a YEG Thrive Award for Best Multiple Location or Large Gym/Studio. Edmonton noticed.

When Albany opened, Gungnir bars were already on the racks. Members training on the free weights floor have never known loose collars. The club was collar-free before anyone walked in, and it has stayed that way since.

MOVATI Harvest Hills, also in Edmonton, has since followed. Two collar-free MOVATI clubs in the same city, both equipped with Gungnir bars from opening day, both operating at the premium standard that MOVATI is known for across Canada.

For a chain building at this pace and at this level, what goes on the weight floor matters. Gungnir was chosen for Albany because it is engineered for exactly this kind of environment: high volume, high expectations, and members who notice the difference from their first set.

Two locations down. Seventeen to go. If you are in Edmonton, the bars are already waiting.
