EVO Fitness is one of Norway's largest gym chains, with 91 locations from Kirkenes in the north to Kristiansand in the south. Their newest facility, EVO Bjølsen, opened in Oslo's Bjølsen neighbourhood this autumn, and it is collar-free from the moment the doors opened.
EVO Bjølsen is located at Moldegata 7 in Oslo, sitting in one of the city's most active and fast-growing neighbourhoods. As with every EVO facility, members have access to all 91 centres across Norway on a single membership, with no binding contracts and opening hours running from 05:00 to 24:00 every day of the year. EVO has built its reputation on making serious strength and conditioning training accessible, and Bjølsen is the latest expression of that philosophy.
What makes Bjølsen stand out from the first day is the weight floor. Gungnir bars are in place across the racks, and the bumper plates are Gungnir's own, meaning members stepping in for the first time are training on a complete Gungnir setup. No loose collars, no compromises on the plate quality, and no settling-in period before the gym reaches its intended standard. It was collar-free and fully equipped from day one.
EVO has been a Gungnir partner since 2023, equipping every new location with Gungnir bars as standard. From 2025, Gungnir bumper plates have been added to that setup, making Bjølsen one of the most complete Gungnir installations in the network.
Kjetil Fanebust, CEO of EVO Fitness, puts it plainly: "We brought Gungnir barbells into all new EVO gyms from 2023 and developed to plates as well from 2025. Gungnir creates a clean gym environment where you never waste time looking for collars, and it is easy for our members and PTs to slide and lock the plates. All in all, time and space saving, our members love it."
